Friday Update

Hello blogger friends.... I'm afraid the last few weeks have been bad for blogging.

As you know, I am an avid horse lover and I love all things Dressage, Eventing, and Jumping so since the World Equestrian Games (they are our sports biggest event... like even bigger then the Olympics) are going on right here in our country for the first time in history. Since I am poor I cannot be there in person so the 2nd best thing is to watch it live from my computer.... so that my friends is why I have not been here lately :-)

So now, for a quick update. Today I am on my way to Texas.... which by using my handy dandy iphone I might just be able to update from the road(: I am on my way to see the hogs play my baby brother. He has been gone to tech training for a few months now, and I'm sorta starting to miss him... lol. Nah, I really do miss that kid, and I can't wait to hug him... that is if he will hug his older sister, he is still a teenager so its not cool to hug your siblings yet.

And along with seeing my brother, dad got tickets to the Arkansas vs. A&M game!!!!!!!

I have the BEST dad ever!!!!

He sure knows the way to my heart :-)

I am sooooo excited to see the game... and the best part about it is that it is at Texas stadium... that big HUGE stadium with the ginormous screen. I'm forgetting that it is home to those nasty cowboys (sorry if your a fan but I just cant say much nice about them, except for Felix Jones). It's a wonderful opportunity to experience a small piece of greatness in football.... sigh.... I sure do love fall!!!

Well I got to go pack and get ready to leave so goodbye... for now!!

Friday update

It's been a loooooooooooooooong week. My boss has gone out of town so instead of working 3 days this week I'm working 6. 52 hours sitting at a desk gets really old.... really fast. The good thing about working the extra days is that the paycheck will be very nice and since I just got the horse vet bill in I desperately need some extra cash this month. The bad news is that I still have to find time to clean my mom's house, and since there is no time left after those 2 jobs I had to tell my new riding student that she couldn't come out for a lesson:( and there's no time to ride myself:( Thankfully the week is almost over!!

So, I haven't spent any time updating you on the crazy things that are going on. Last week I had a job interview and go in Monday to meet the staff. It is more hours then I am getting at my current job and the pay is slightly better. It is also only 15 min away from my current house and not 45 min away. To complicate matters I am moving. I've been praying for either a roommate or a cheaper place to live. Well.... God answered of course and the new place is pretty cool... I'll have my horses in my backyard!!! To read about just how excited I am about it and for more info on the place go to Life with Romeo since its a horse girls dream place I thought it more appropriate to write about it over there.

The complicated part is that this place is near the current job...so..... not sure if I should take the new job. We'll see I guess. The next month will be crazy.. I like moving, but I hate packing... lol. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

On a different note, my fam is in need of prayer. I won't go into much detail but my lil sis and her husband just need some serious prayer. If you get a chance to pray for them I'd appreciate it.

Another rainy Saturday

So its another rainy day at the lot. Last night another series of storms came thundering across the state. Another night of peaceful sleep while the rain fell all around. There is a strong chance of another line coming again tonight. Have I mentioned that I LOVE rain, especially thunderstorms. I could do without the tornadoes that destroyed some parts of the state, leaving many without homes this morning. I am so thankful that the storms stayed clear of Greenbrier.

I was a little late to work this morning. When I arrived at my parents house I was gratefully surprised by a little voice yelling "Kaffer!!" My three year old nephew had spent the night at Poppy's and Mimi's. I LOVE that little boy more then I ever imagined that I could love a child. He is a very special boy and the best reminder of just how amazing God is. He is the joy of our family and spoiled to the core:) He was so excited to see me.. and immediately decided that we had to go play with his toys. I sadly had to tell him that I couldn't, that Kaffer had to go to work. I was rushing to get out the door, because of course I kept lingering around, soaking up every moment with this sweet little boy, I remembered that I needed to borrow a book from my mom to take with me to the lot. Ryan jumped up off the couch and ran over to his pile of books and said, "Here Kaffer, you can take my book!" It is moments like that which make your heart melt. Simple statements of a giving heart from one who is only been on this earth for a short while. There was no hesitation in his voice, he was excited at the chance to share his book with his aunt. He heard me voice a need, saw that he could help me, and immediately jumped up to do so.

Isn't that how was as Christians should be? Shouldn't we jump up at the opportunity to help others? Not just help but do so with an excited, joyful attitude. So often we help others out of obligation. After all Christ told us to help one another. It's one of those things that has crept onto our "Christian check list," just another way that I have done my Christian duty for the month. We as Christians, as followers of the One who never hesitates to help us, we need to develop an attitude more like that of my nephews. Even if it is something as simple as a book.

Bitter sweet

Well I turned in my last research paper last night. I don't foresee this as my very last one though... just for this degree:) Who knows what God will have me do next. I am trying to stay clear of putting my foot in my mouth, lol, likes thats even possible.

There is now only one class that stands between me and my Master's!!!! I am so excited to be near the end. On one hand I am looking forward to school being done, and on the other hand I can't believe that I am almost completely done with school (for the foreseeable future that is). I am really going to miss it. I remember in high school that there was no looking back, I had no desire to stay there nor do I miss it at all. The feeling towards college and grad school is very different. These last 6 years have been wonderful. There have been many, many hard and trying times but I see how God has used them to make into the person I am today. I am so thankful that He has opened my eyes to see His hand on me even in the rough patches. I am so thankful for the joyful few weeks that I have had recently. God has been freeing me of so many things here lately, which makes me wonder what He has in store for me next:)

On a completely different note my baby brother leaves tomorrow evening for basic training. I can't wait to see the man he will be when he returns. Of course, as his big sister I am worried about him. It is going to be a hard few months for him and I from the stories I hear not at all enjoyable. I can't believe how grown up he has gotten. It is hard to imagine that he is old enough to be doing this. I have watched him grow up so much in the last few years and cannot wait to see what God has in store for him.
